Both classes staged a mutiny yesterday. They were scheduled to take midterm exams, but when I walked into the first classroom they begin immediately to plead for me to put it off until Monday. Now, when we did a review session on Wednesday (wherein I embedded the exam questions in the discussion), this class took no notes and was pretty unserious. They knew they were not prepared, and I knew they were not prepared and had I given the exam, they would all have failed. So I relented. I am a pushover after all. We spent the class studying, but not until after I admonished them to take notes. The second class was ready, but not confident, so when they also asked if I could put it off, I confessed that I had done so for the other class, and it was all over then. Another study group. Next week is a wash anyhow. Wednesday should be spring break, but we have a snow make-up day. Bleh.
Anyhow, one of my little snowflakes, who is apparently studying on this wonderful day, just sent me the most subtle, insightful, complex, and intelligent question I have ever heard from a student. I only mentioned that because I am impressed and proud, but also as an excuse to link to this video of the same student. He is the second dancer, known as NRG: The Real One.
