Well, that could go for a lot of things, but what I’m talking about is Stephen Fry in America.
I’ve only seen one episode so far. Yes, it’s a bit trite, shallow, and predictable, but I would watch Stephen Fry take a nap if someone made a show of it. The history is not exceptional, but I mean, really, this show has Stephen Fry out deer hunting with a bunch of New York country boys. That’s the greatest concept ever. (That Adirondack cabin he visits, btw, is what Whig Hill looks like…in Heaven.)
I would pay extra money to watch the extended conversation between Fry and Peter J. Gomes, because you know there had to be one.
Can’t wait for this day to be over so I can go home and watch the second episode. He’s visiting some place called “the deep south.”
Also, Danger 5 is a real thing, and it is the best historical recreation of a historical imagination (yes, that’s what I meant to say) I have ever seen. Plus, it is awesome.
