I got no show

The new dj schedule came out and I didn't get a show. I asked for the Sunday morning slot I've been doing because I really like that time, every other week, but I got bumped in favor of someone else. Since I didn't volunteer for overnight shifts, they didn't have any room for me. Woe is me. Unlucky and unloved, me.

I'll probably end up enjoying the break. I subbed a show last night and played (almost) nothing but old R&B, soul, and funk. I don't know anything about that stuff but I love it and am learning quickly.

iMovie help needed

Nevermind.

I need an iMovie specialist. Here's the problem: I'm making a slide show and the .jpgs I'm importing are converted to a cropped and low quality image.

Now, I know this happens because iMovie reformats the image to a standard television screen pixel height and width. Or something like that.  This is all explained here.

I've tried resizing the image and that doesn't work. I don't really want to do this in iDVD either. (But will if I need to.) I can't purchase any software so have to do it with what's on this OS X.

Any advice?

I should add that I'm syncing the slide show to a audio track and want to turn it into a Quicktime movie when done.

Went on down to Chapel Hill last night to see Chatham County Line. Excellent show, as usual. And as usual, they didn't play a single one of the songs I really, really like... just the songs I like. They even unveiled a few new songs. Good stuff. Two encores, and a cool tribute to our late President, James Brown.

Maybe because it was an acoustic show...I don't know...but it seemed like many people were talking very loud. A few of them right behind me. Hell, even ol'Dave up on stage was shooting daggers at the people talking during a quiet gospel number and making pointed barbs in his small talk. Man, I hate that.

Anyhow, good show.

Yes, yes, the snow

Everyone is commenting, so I'll add my 2 cents.

I'm working on grumpy old man so I hate the snow...it gets in the way of work getting done. I had three big appointments in the office today so I eagerly* went in and got there on time to discover all three were canceled. Argggggggghhh.

I went in on Rt. 70 and it was remarkably easy, considering.

*yeah, I love my job.

I love Durham

There are quite a few bears in Durham. They love me. And I love them too. But not in that way.

Least interesting mystery. Ever.

So I went to work today, as usual. While there someone came to my house and apparently tried to clean my gutters. Well, it looks like someone ran a hose over my gutters, which are no doubt filled with three inches of old tar, and now streams and splashes of gutter gunk are underneath the eaves of this place. Then, they took a leaf blower to my back steps.

Wasn't Jeff. He's been in Robeson all day. Wasn't the old guy across the street. He doesn't like me. The sloppy nature of it all suggests my landlord's low-bid fix-it man did it. But since the landlord is apparently demolishing this place by neglect, I really doubt it.
